Clayton Plays The Waiting Game

At the beginning of his senior year, Brandon Clayton had hoped that he would be finished with the recruiting process by now. The 6-foot-0, 165-pound point guard from Notre Dame Academy in Virginia believed that a number of new schools would become interested in his services, but that has not been the case.
“I started off the season kind of slow, but I really picked it up when my team needed me the most,” Clayton told RivalsHoops.com. “I really felt that some new schools would become involved in my recruitment, but that has not really happened yet. I spoke to my high school coach a few days ago and he told me that a couple of schools want to come watch me practice, but I don’t think anything has been scheduled yet.”

Several people close to Clayton have suggested that he attend prep school for a year. They believe an additional year of experience will do wonders for the 6-foot-0 point guard, but he is not interested in making that move.
“Several people have told me that I should spend a year at IMG prep school, but I’m not interested in doing that,” he said. “A personal friend of the family told me I didn’t need to attend prep school, so I don’t think I will go in that direction.
“Lamar, Rice and Morgan State are recruiting me pretty hard right now, but it’s my hope that several schools come watch me practice before I make a decision,” he added. “I have taken unofficial visits to Lamar and Rice, so I do have some options as far as my future goes. I think more schools will become involved in my recruitment once they come watch me practice.”
