IN HIS OWN WORDS

Claxton on Georgia: “I ate lunch with Coach (Mark) Fox and then watched them workout. He said they really, really want me and talked to me about how they would use me. They would use me to be versatile like they used Nemi Djurisic as a stretch four.”

On South Carolina: “I like the coaches there and I like Coach (Frank) Martin. I like his coaching style.”

On NC State: “I’m going on a visit there this weekend, so I’ll get to know a lot more about them. I like the coaches. I talk to Coach (Butch) Pierre and he’s a cool dude.”

Florida State: “I like Florida State a lot. Me and Coach ‘CY’ (Charlton Young) have built a great relationship. I like Coach (Leonard) Hamilton’s ways.”

Georgetown: “Georgetown is my most recent offer. I like their program. I’ve been in contact with them for a while.”

Baylor: “They are in a really good conference and I like Coach (Scott) Drew and Coach (Jerome) Tang. I like Coach Drew’s personality.”

WHAT'S NEXT?

Claxton plans to visit NC State on Saturday and follows that with a visit to South Carolina on Monday. During July, he’ll spend the first open weekend playing with Team South Carolina before leaving to play on the Virgin Islands national team. He says his current plan is to cut his list down by the end of July and make a decision during August or September.

RIVALS' REACTION

Right now, smart money is on Claxton picking Georgia. He’s been to Georgia’s campus more than any other as he’s the son of former Bulldog Charles Claxton. Baylor, Florida State and South Carolina all seem to have his attention too, and have built a strong relationship with him.
