Kentucky went almost nine months without a commitment then -- BOOM - two top 10 prospects put on Big Blue ball caps. Briscoe is the best point guard in the class. He has good size, a college-ready body and is both mentally and physically tough. Labissiere will have to add strength, but his upside is tremendous, evoking comparisons to Anthony Davis from some. But Kentucky is not done. So the question is: Who's next? Kentucky is still pursuing Stephen ZimmermanClickHere to view this Link. and sources have told Rivals.com that Briscoe's signing has had a very positive impact on Kentucky's recruitment of Antonio BlakeneyClickHere to view this Link..
Texas A&M picked up an elite shooter in D.J. HoggClick Here to view this Link.. He has excellent size, runs the floor well and can spot up for NBA three-pointers. Hogg is also deadly coming off screens. Thomas is a big bodied forward that is comfortable on either side of the lane and can finish with either hand showing nice touch. If Billy KennedyClick Here to view this Link. finds a way to utilize Thomas and Tyler DavisClick Here to view this Link. in the same lineup, that will make the 2015-16 season something special for Aggies fans.
Auburn's Bruce PearlClick Here to view this Link. was handcuffed by NCAA sanctions when he arrived, but his staff has been able to get its top targets on campus and committed even without Pearl being allowed to meet many of them. The jewel in the Tigers class is Horace SpencerClick Here to view this Link. (No. 61), but Spencer plans to hold off until the Spring to sign his national letter of intent.
Ranking the SEC classes
1. Kentucky (2 overall)
2. Texas A&M (3)
3.Auburn (11)
4. Florida (13)
5. LSU (24)
Florida continues to recruit at an elite level, landing two Top-100 prospects in KeVaughn AllenClick 14. TennesseeHere to view this Link. and Noah DickersonClick 14. TennesseeHere to view this Link.. Keith StoneClick 14. TennesseeHere to view this Link. is a player who could end up in the Top 100 when the final rankings for the class of 2015 are published. And Kevarrius HayesClick 14. TennesseeHere to view this Link. -- a bouncy "energy guy" with good length anda nose for rebounding and shot blocking presence -- has a 40-inch vertical leap to go with his 6-foot-9 frame and has a chance to be a special player by his senior season.
LSU landed the overall No. 1 prospect in Simmons, and the Tigers are working to finish their class with prospects who plan to sign in the Spring such as Baton Rouge's Brandon SampsonClick Here to view this Link.. Sampson attends Madison Prep, the same school that LSU forward Jarell Martin attended. LSU is also squarely in the mix for highly sought after shooting guard Antonio BlakeneyClick Here to view this Link.. Then there's Jaquan LyleClick Here to view this Link., the one-time Oregon commit who recently visited LSU. Lastly, LSU may successfully pick up a player from land down under once again in 6-foot-8 wing Jack McVeigh.
South Carolina scored big in getting a signed NLI from P.J. DozierClick Here to view this Link.. Keeping Dozier in-state will make him the face of the program for locals and could lay the ground work for a "stay home" movement for Frank MartinClick Here to view this Link.. Primarily a point guard, Dozier has the versatility to slide over to the shooting guard or small forward position. But make no mistake, he is a playmaker. Chris SilvaClick Here to view this Link.'s size and athleticism should allow him to have an immediate impact for the Gamecocks. A run-jump athlete, Silva loves to block shots, can step out and hit open three-pointers and has a developing back-to-the-basket game.
