Class of 2014 five-star makes his pick

On the recruiting front, the rich keep on getting richer. Tuesday morning, class of 2014 star Karl Towns announced his decision.
A 6-foot-10 five-star big man from Metuchen (N.J.) St. Joseph's who was originally part of the class of 2015, Towns confirmed during a live announcement on MSG Varsity that he would be attending Kentucky and re-classifying to the class of 2014.

"My first decision today is that I'm going to re-classify the class of 2014," said Towns during the announcement. "The second decision I have to make is my University. And the University that I've decided to play at in 2014 is the University of Kentucky."
During the summer, Towns played under UK's coaching staff while playing for the Dominican Republic's national team. The experience certainly played a big role in his decision.
One of the nation's elite talents in the who is now in the junior class, Towns is a big man with a high level of skill.
He likes to face the hoop when possible and is a very dangerous jump shooter with easy range to the three point. With his back to the basket he is already pretty comfortable turning over either shoulder to score and he is a dangerous passer out of either the low-block or the high post.
With a move to the class of 2014 Towns will keep his five-star status and will likely enter the rankings somewhere in the neighborhood of the national top five.
Under John Calipari, Kentucky has had the number one ranked recruiting classes in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and they are No. 1 so far in 2013. Landing Towns gives them a great start on the class of 2014.
