The No. 65 ranked player in the Rivals150 Shane Clark is down to two schools for the time being. The 6-foot-6, 185-pound small forward from Philadelphia, Pa., but attending Hargrave Military Academy, has visits lined up for his final two schools, one from the ACC and one being Villinova, to whom he was formerly committed.

“Shane will visit Maryland and then Villanova,” said Clark’s AAU coach Lonnie Lowry of Philly MJC. “He will take those two visits and see if something comes out of them. If he doesn’t feel good about a decision, he might wait.”
According to Coach Lowry, the recruitment of Clark is down to one essential factor- what program can bring his game up to NBA standards.
“We are just looking for the best situation for Shane,” said Coach Lowry. “Nothing against Villanova and Coach Wright, but Maryland and Coach Williams have the track record of getting players to the NBA. There will be an opening at small forward for Shane at Maryland.
“Shane just wants to play the three and get better and develop his skills to where they need to be. Basically it comes down to which program will give him the best chance to get to the League the quickest.”
Clark is a very good athlete with an amazing wing span of 7-1 for his height. His shooting range only reaches around 12 feet and his mechanics need work as well. Not yet a very good handler or passer, he can effectively put it on the floor and score inside his range. He does have a nice upside in that he has the athleticism and length to be a NBA player but does need to improve his skills with the ball.
Last season Clark averaged 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks for Cardinal Dougherty High School in Philadelphia, Pa.
