"I haven't thought much about my recruiting," said Clanton. "We are focused on winning a state championship. My coach is pushing me to be more than a scorer. He wants me to be a leader and strong rebounder."
And Clanton has been hitting the boards, averaging 16 rebounds per game to go along with a 22 points per game scoring average.
Although Clanton will focus more on recruiting when he is running this spring with Team Breakdown, he does have a top five list which includes Oklahoma, Texas, Miami, VCU and Indiana.
A versatile big man who can handle and pass the ball on the perimeter as well as cause damage around the basket, Clanton wants to play in a system which will utilize his array of talents.
"I'll be looking at the coaching and style of play of the schools recruiting me," he said. "I want to play for a coach who lets his players play and doesn't hold them back. I'm looking for a wide open, spread offense."
