Christopher down to three

Once a California commitment, Patrick Christopher opened his recruitment back up this summer as he emerged as one of the top shooting guard prospects in the country. The Bears are still on his list, but so is an SEC power and a Big 12 power.
"It's down to California, Kentucky and Texas," said Christopher, the No. 38 ranked prospect in the Rivals150. "All of them are pretty even right now."

Two weekends ago, Christopher spent some time in Austin, Texas, on an official visit.
"It was really fun and I enjoyed myself," he said. "I got a chance to know the coaches and players better. I even got a chance to play one on one with T.J. Ford. That was a lot of fun. All and all, it was a great visit."
Since the Texas visit, Christopher, 6-foot-4, 192-pounds and from Dominguez High School in Compton, Calif., has had one in-home visit and is expecting a couple more.
"Coach Braun and his staff were in here Sunday night," he said. "That went really well. Coach Smith is coming to a practice this week. I plan on setting up an official visit then, but nothing is set up with Kentucky yet. And Texas is supposed to do an in-home, but I don't know when."
Patrick Christopher scouting report:
With a 6-foot-9 wing span, a smooth shooting stroke and a quick jump off the floor, Christopher is one of the top shooting guard prospects in the nation. Has room to improve his ball handling and lateral quickness.
