Christopher Ayer, a massive 6-11, 245 pound Flowing Wells H.S. in Tucson, Ariz., has committed to Loyola Marymount University.

The Insiders Report confirmed this commitment with Christopher's father (also named Chris), on Monday evening. The commitment came after the younger Ayer (pictured right) wrapped up an official visit to LMU this past weekend.
Ayer picked LMU over Portland, St. Mary's, Northern Arizona and Texas El Paso. "Christopher did commit on Sunday but we did not release the commitment yet," Mr. Ayer said late Monday night. "It will be released probably tomorrow. It was a tough decision but he's very happy about it."
Ayer had already taken unofficial visits to Northern Arizona and UTEP, but his official trip to LMU sealed the deal for Steve Aggers' staff. Ayer had played with the Tucson Heat squad at the Best of the Summer Tournament in late July.
Ayer averaged 14 points, eight rebounds and four blocks per game as a junior at Flowing Wells. He said he has a 3.5 GPA and has already achieved a qualifying score on the SAT exam.
Ayer is the third player to commit to Loyola so far this year. He joins San Jose combo/point guard Brandon Worthy and Los Angeles small forward John Haywood as members of the Lions' recruiting class.
