Christie considering four schools

Small forward J.D. Christie is having a strong senior season for Shawnee Mission East High School in Fairway, Kan. Four mid-major schools are in the hunt for Christie, 6-foot-6, 220-pounds, and according to his head coach Shawn Hair, one of them will come away with a steal.
"J.D.'s top four are Evansville, Northern Illinois, North Carolina-Wilmington and Ball State," said Coach Hair. "All of them want him to visit, but I'm not sure who has officially offered at this point.

"This weekend J.D. is visiting Evansville. Northern Illinois visited him on Tuesday. Ball State has watched Christie play a couple times, and Wilmington has watched him on tape and plans to come in soon."
Averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds per game, Christie has a versatile game.
"J.D. is a kid who just knows how to play the game," said Christie's AAU coach LJ Goolsby of the Kansas City Pump N Run program. "He is versatile and causes a lot of match up problems. He shoots it well and can drive with either hand."
Coach Hair echoed these sentiments.
"J.D. is extremely athletic and gets off the floor well," said Hair. "He is tremendous going to his left for a righthander, and he is a legitimate inside/outside threat. He is shooting 40 percent from the three-point line.
"He does need to work on his lateral quickness for his perimeter defense and continue to work on his perimeter offensive game. He realizes this and is working hard in both areas.
"He is a great late pick up. Whoever gets him is getting a steal."
