Christian Brown Is Leaning To School

Christian Brown, an active, high-energy swingman
from Rice High School, is a versatile performer who is

starting to get more recognition.
Brown has heard from Rice, St. Francis(PA), St.
Peter's, and Colgate. An assistant from Colgate was
on-hand Friday night as Rice played Bishop Loughlin,
ostensibly to evaluate Brown and teammate Steve Burtt. Brown has not taken
any visits yet, but expressed interest in Bob Leckie's
program across the river.
"If I had to decide now, I would probably go to St.
Peter's and play with my teammate Keydren Clark," said
Brown.
Brown, at 6-4, 185-pounds, has impressed Rivals Hoops with
his consistency shooting the ball this winter. Brown
connected on 5 of 6 three-pointers in a win over
Bishop Loughlin Friday night, and is a bona-fide
threat from behind the arc. Perhaps most appealing
about Brown, however, is the balance in his game.
Instead of getting complacent when he is scoring,
Brown is extremely active on both ends of the floor,
playing sticky defense while turning away shots and
picking us steals. Brown is very active inside, a
garbage-man type good for putbacks and plenty of
rebounds.
Brown, who is averaging 15 points and 8 rebounds for
Rice, would be a terrific fit in a low Division I to
mid-major program, and probably projects to the three
slot at the next level.
Brown, a native of Washington Heights, in Manhattan,
carries a 90.3 average in the classroom and has scored
850 on the SAT.
