Christ the King Rallies Past Christian Brothers

TRENTON, N.J. -- Christ the King H.S. erased a double digit first half deficit and rallied past Christian Brothers Academy, 52-50, on Sunday afternoon at the Prime Time Shootout.
Mitch Beauford's three pointer midway through the fourth quarter gave the Royals the lead for good at 47-45.

A steal and basket by CK senior forward Mike Claxton boosted the lead to 49-45, but CBA junior forward Chris Dunne countered with a basket at the 1:21 mark to cut the lead back to two points.
The Colts had a golden opportunity to tie the game when Claxton missed a pair of free throws with 39.1 seconds left, but CBA's Chris Kenny (Monmouth) could not convert a nice feed from point guard Billy Smith with 27 seconds to play.
Royals' point guard Japhet McNeil put the game out of reach by nailing three of four free throw attempts in the final 24.7 seconds.
Beauford finished with 15 points to lead CK, while McNeil and Claxton added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Kenny led all scorers with 17 points and Smith tallied 12 points for the Colts in defeat.
