Chris Taft Is A Player To Watch

Chris Taft, a 6-9, 195-pound forward from Xavierian High School in New York, is one of the more talented sophomores in the country. Heading into this summer, it's likely Taft will have many big name schools scouting him hard. Expect a bunch of offers in his junior season. Recruits are now committing earlier and earlier in the process.
Whether Taft decides to commit this season is up in the air. But he has the skills and the frame to be a big time player.

He demonstrated some of those skills this past season and in his last game of the year -- a CHSAA Class A semifinal battle against St. Raymond's at Fordham University. Taft led his team in scoring with 19 points though his team lost.
Taft will need to grow into his body. He is thin right now but he could add about 25-30 pounds to his frame and be able to post up players more effectively. Taft already has nice post up moves and ball fakes. He has a soft touch too in the lane.
Several major schools have already expressed interest in him including Villanova, Hofstra, Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Syracuse, Connecticut, St. John's, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Boston College, Providence, Ohio State, Virginia, and Maryland.
