Chris Quinn Shows His Skills At Slam Dunk

Chris Quinn, 6-1, Coffman H.S., Dublin, Ohio, put on a clinic last night at the Slam Dunk to the Beach on how to run the point guard position.
Although he was injured and did not play in the summer, the Notre Dame bound floor general put on a show in the Shamrocks' victory over Salem H.S. of Virginia. He clearly got the better of Maryland signee John Gilchrist, as Quinn used his sharp outside shot and deft passing skills to lead Coffman to an easier than expected victory.

Quinn scored 29 points, grabbed three rebounds, dished out six assists and listen to this -- NO Turnovers. Again, no turnovers for Quinn.
Chris was five of nine from beyond the three-point line and 12 of 20 from the field. Oddly, he missed all of his four free throw attempts. But make no mistake about it -- this kid can play and will be a big factor in Notre Dame basketball over the next several years.
Quinn is a terrific floor general. He sees the court well and doesn't force the issue as indicated by his lack of turnovers. He forced Maryland bound guard John Gilchrist into six turnovers. And despite some heavy pressure by Gilchrist on Quinn, Chris handled himself like a pro.
Gilchrist did score 31 points but Quinn clearly is in the top list of point guards in the class of 2002.
