Chris Hunter Was Impressive Yesterday

TEANECK, NEW JERSEY -- Chris Hunter, a multi-talented forward from West Side High School in Gary, Indiana, is one of the top defensive players in the country in the class of 2002.
Hunter, a mobile 6-11, 200 pound center prospect from Westside H.S. in Gary, Ind., has a host of high major programs seriously recruiting him this spring. Hunter is likely to have more schools try to jump into his recruiting race.

Hunter told us his list now includes Louisville, Missouri, Michigan, Purdue, North Carolina, Syracuse, and Illinois. "I am pretty much open right now," Hunter said. "I have not ruled out any school."
Hunter is a player to watch. He has a lot of physical skills. He runs the floor well, blocks shots, and rebounds. His offensive game is still developing but after seeing Hunter for about the 10th time over the past two summers, he can play high division one basketball.
"I am going to cut my list down at the end of July," Hunter said. "Then I will line up some official visits." Hunter has not taken any unofficial visits yet. "I am just trying to work on my game this summer," Hunter said. "Then I will worry about the recruiting process."
From Russ Blake: Previously, Hunter had an up and down weekend at the recent St. Louis Eagles Invitational. Hunter has pretty good skills for a big man, including the ability to put the ball on the floor and draw contact. On top of that, he's ultra mobile and is very quick from North to South.
As a junior, Hunter averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and three blocks as a junior at Westside.
