Chicago-area Big Man On The Mend

Ronnie Caldwell, a 6-10, 230 pound center from Proviso East High School in the Chicao, IL, area, will be sitting on the sidelines for the next couple months.
Caldwell, while competing with the Pirates at last weekend's inaugural High School National Championship at the Penn Palestra in Philadelphia, suffered a broken foot on Saturday. Second year coach Troy Jackson said that Caldwell is good kid who needs to work on his offensive game.

"He's strong in the paint rebounding and blocking shots," he said. "He has a lot of potential."
Jackson said that Kansas State, Western Kentucky, Southern Illinois and Purdue are recruiting this big man who should be fully recovered in time for Proviso's upcoming season. The Pirates were 26-4 last season in Jackson's first year at the Maywood school after seven seasons at Thornton HS.
