Chase Focused on Three
Once with the Georgia Stars, but now with the Atlanta Celtics, Rashad Chase will be in Las Vegas this weekend competing in the adidas Super 64. The 6-foot-7, 225-pound combo forward from Mays High School in Atlanta, Ga., has a solid top three with two other schools that might also receive visits.

“My top three schools are Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida State,” said Chase, the No. 136 ranked player in the class of 2005. “I don't have a favorite right now but will know more after I take my visits later this year.
"I will probably visit all three in the fall along with Miami and Indiana before I make a decision. I'm looking for a place that I can come in and play early.”
Chase cited the Alabama coaching staff and the Tide’s style of play when commenting on his favorite schools.
"I like Alabama’s coaching staff a lot,” he said. “They seem like good guys and are doing a good job with the team. I also like their style of play. They get up and down the floor, and I think that will suit my game.”
The coaching staff and the chance to play early have Chase considering Tennessee.
"They also have a good coaching staff and have done a good job of recruiting me,” he said. “I think I would have a good chance to come in and play early."
Already having taken an unofficial visit to Florida State, Chase had the chance to develop some strong relationships while on the campus.
"I took an unofficial visit to FSU earlier this year and liked it a lot,” he said. “The campus and facilities were real nice. I also liked their players and think they will have a good team. I have built a good relationship with the FSU coaching staff."
A very physical player, Chase is working to hone is skills both on the perimeter and in the paint. If he can polish up his scoring moves in the low and mid-post as well as improve his ball handling and ability to defend on the perimeter, he could be a tough combo forward at the high major level.
"I’ve been working a lot on my agility to help my perimeter defense,” said Chase about improving his game. “I'm also working on my mid-range game and my jump hook."
