Charlie Villanueva Hurts Right Knee

MONTVILLE, CONNECTICUT -- Charlie Villanueva, an agile 6-8 forward from Blair Academy in New Jersey, was not so agile today. Villanueva limped around the court for only three minutes today during a contest with St. Thomas More.
"It hurts," Villanueva said. "I couldn't run hard on it."

Villaneuva hurt his right knee after colliding with a player the previous night from Mount Hermon. "I hit someone's knee head on," Villanueva said. "I have to have it looked at."
Villanueva came out for warmups. He did not start against St. Thomas More. But he was inserted with about nine minutes to go in the first half. Villanueva retreated to the bench three minutes later. He scored two points on three shots. But he hobbled around those three minutes.
"When I get back to Blair I will have it looked at," Villanueva said. "Right now I just have to rest it and put some ice on it."
Villanueva did have his right knee taped. But he was unable to get up and down the court with any speed.
Villanueva has a list of Illinois, Florida, Syracuse, Rutgers, Connecticut, Georgetown, Kentucky, Seton Hall, Indiana, Maryland, North Carolina, Villanova, and St. John's. More on Villanueva later on rivalshoops.com.
