Charles Hopes To Graduate

Andre Charles, a 6-8, 225 pound power forward from Redlands J.C. in El Reno, Okla., is hoping to graduate in the spring and move on to a Division I program in the fall.
Charles was a member of back to back national title JUCO squads. He spent last year at Wabash Valley, which claimed the Division I title, while Redlands took all the marbles at the D-II tournament last month in Danville, Ill.

Redlands Asst. Coach Elwyn McRoy said that Northern Arizona, Bethune Cookman, Canisius, Southeast Missouri State and Southeast Louisiana have all expressed interest in Charles this year.
"He has not made any visits because he has to take care of some business in the classroom," McRoy said. "He is taking 21 hours so it's kind of tough for him to miss class right now."
A native of Chicago, Ill., Charles averaged 10 points and four rebounds per game this past season for Redlands.
Charles is not expected to make any visits until after May 10th, the date that Redlands will hold its graduation ceremonies. We'll keep you posted on his situation, so stay tuned.
