Charles Bass Verbals To Buckeyes

Charles Bass, a 6-9, 200-pound multi-skilled forward from Crete-Monee High School is Illinois, committed to Ohio State last night, according to sources close to Bass. This is a terrific pickup for the Buckeyes. Bass' best days are ahead of him on the next level.
Bass, who may not be done growing, has a tremendous wingspan and is very athletic. Bass will make a great college player due to his athletic ability and agility along the baseline.

The Buckeyes class now features two top 100 players, including outstanding guard Richardo Billings, who has already given a verbal commitment to Jim O'Brien's program.
Bass had told us he had a very good trip to Ohio State. This seemed to help the Buckeyes to overcome outstanding recruiting efforts also from Minnesota, George Washington, and West Virginia.
Bass saw his stock rise after he had a solid summer. Bass performed at the AAU Showcase and the National AAU tournament in Lake Buena Vista, Florida last week. He was terrific in both events. "I felt very confident in my game," Bass said. "I felt with our team it was a different guy every game that we went to for a big game."
And Bass had his share. A lefty, Bass is very agile and slick along the baseline. He is thin. His body will probably fill out another 10-15 pounds and he would not lose any of his fluid motion. Bass has a nice touch from the outside too. Despite his thin frame, he handled himself smoothly in the low post.
