Chalmers Set To Announce On Friday

Mario Chalmers, the outstanding 6-foot-1, 165-pound point guard from Bartlett High School in Anchorage, Alaska, has scheduled a press conference on Friday to announce his college destination. Ronnie Chalmers just informed RivalsHoops.com that his son will decide between Kansas and Arizona. The No. eight-ranked player on the Rivals150 list had originally planned to make his anouncement on Wednesday, which happens to be his birthday, but decided to wait until Friday.
“Yes, my son has made a decision about what school to attend,” Bartlett High School Head Coach Ronnie Chalmers said. “After talking as a family tonight, its going to be Kansas or Arizona. Mario will announce his decision on Friday at 3:00 (Alaska time). I will be calling the local media in the morning to let them know about the press conference.

"I can tell you that Mario enjoyed his visit to Arizona and Kansas," he added. "There was a time when he thought he might not take another visit after Arizona, but he decided to visit Kansas. We had a great time this weekend in Lawrence, so both schools have done great job recruiting my son."
Chalmers met with his parents for about four hours on Monday evening to talk about his decision. It's not yet known if any of the coaches have been contacted.
