Chalmers Ready For Second Official Visit

Mario Chalmers, one of the top point guards in the class of 2005, is just a few days away from taking his second official visit of the year. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound floor general from Bartlett High School in Anchorage, Alaska, will spend the weekend at the University of Kansas. The No. 8 ranked player in the class of 2005 has already visited Arizona, but it is not yet known if he will take any more visits before making a final decision about his future.
“I really don’t know if we are going to take more visits,” Bartlett High School Head Coach Ronnie Chalmers said. “After Mario visited Arizona, he said he was done taking visits, but then decided to visit Kansas. We should have a better idea about his future once we return from out visit to Kansas.

“Mario has already missed a lot of school this semester, so I don’t think he will take another official visit,” he added. “There is a chance we could take some unofficial visits in June, but that decision has not been made yet.”
Arizona, Kansas, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech appear to be the teams to beat for Chalmers. North Carolina was the longtime favorite, but the Tar Heels do not appear to be showing much interest at this time.
While nothing is certain right now, it looks like Chalmers might end his recruitment sooner than expected.
“I really believe we will have a lot of answers after our visit to Kansas,” Coach Chalmers said. “We want to get a good look at the campus and the facilities. If we feel that more visits are needed, we will do that.”
