Center Prospect Has 9 Of Interest

Will Bowers, a 6-11, 240 pound center from Archbishop Spalding H.S. in Severn, Md., continues to keep nine major programs of serious interest on his list.
Bowers told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that his top two schools are Maryland and Notre Dame, while St. Joseph's, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, Pittsburgh, Providence and Stanford are also on his list of finalists.

Bowers said that many of the colleges on his list have offered scholarships. One that hasn't yet is Stanford, which typically waits until an admissions decision is rendered on a prospective student-athlete.
One thing that Bowers is planning to do in the weeks to come is take several unofficial visits to many of the programs on his list.
Bowers played well back in December when we saw him at the Slam Dunk to the Beach in Delaware, especially in Spalding's victory over a Torin Francis led Tabor Academy squad.
RivalsHoops.com last saw Bowers, who played on a Baltimore Select squad that made the championship game of the 17 and under Select division, at the Bob Gibbons Memorial Day Tournament of Champions. He struggled at times.
In particular, he didn't convert many shots around the basket when we watched him play, and often didn't box out properly on the defensive glass. Taking into account that big men typically develop slower than perimeter players, Bowers still projects as a high major prospect. The question this summer will be just how high?
