Cawthorne favoring two in the SEC

2010 prospect Luke Cawthorne made a resounding statement with his play at the Reebok Summer Championships. The 6-foot-8, 195-pound power forward from the Patterson (N.C.) School leaves July with two SEC schools at the top of his list.
The Huntsville, Ala., native is presently considering offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn and UAB with Alabama and Arkansas leading the way.

"I've been to Alabama's campus a couple times and really enjoyed it," Cawthorne said. "I liked the game atmosphere a lot. Coach (Antoine) Pettway is recruiting me, and we've developed a good relationship.
"I also liked the Arkansas campus when I was there for the Real Deal on the Hill. Arkansas has always been a good basketball school, but it is a program I need to learn more about."
While Cawthorne is honing his game against Patterson's Rashanti Harris in practice everyday, he will also be studying the style of play of the schools recruiting him.
"I'm looking for an up tempo style," he said. "I'll also look hard at how each school utilizes its four man."
Cawthorne entered the Reebok Summer Championships a three-star prospect, but will be at least in the higher four-star range of the 2010 rankings when they are updated.
Long, athletic and skilled with the basketball, Cawthorne averaged 21.8 points per game in the event and finished as the No. 11 overall scorer.
