Castleberry Excelling On and Off Court

2005 point guard prospect Justin Castleberry out of Archbishop Spalding in Capitol Heights, Maryland is ready to step out of the shadow of Uconn signee Rudy Gay and se if he can catch the attention of some high majors. The steady 6-foot-2, 190-pound Castleberry is presently receiving serious interest from some smaller division one schools.
“Right now I’m receiving interest from the Patriot League and the Ivy League,” said Castleberry. “Columbia, Yale, Holy Cross, and Lehigh are probably showing me the most interest so far. I’m open to everything, but I am liking the interest I am receiving.”

One reason Castleberry is not just focused on receiving interest from bigger schools is his commitment to academics.
“Education is first priority,” said Castleberry, who has a 3.8 GPA and a 1200 on the SAT. “I am looking for a school with a great track record for graduating players. I also want to have a good relationship with the coach, someone I can talk to on and off the court.”
Castleberry, who averaged 10 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds per game last year, has a well rounded game and can do a lot of things to help his team win.
“I’m a floor leader that tries to make everyone around me better,” he said. “One thing I want to do this summer is increase my range.”
