Castine Takes First Visit

Kory Castine, a 6-8, 233 pound power forward from Shaw H.S. in Marrero, La., took his first official visit to Alabama-Birmingham a few weeks back.
Castine told Rivalshoops.com that he hasn't set up any trips since going to UAB the weekend of Sept. 13-15. He said he's been offered scholarships by Tulane, Buffalo, Nicholls State, Stetson and UT-San Antonio.

He's also been contacted by San Jose State, Lipscomb, Louisiana-Lafayette, SW Texas and Stephen F. Austin.
Castine said he is considering a trip to UT-San Antonio in the near future, but hasn't picked a date for that visit.
"Tulane and UAB are showing me the most attention so far," he said.
His trip to UAB was a positive one.
"I learned about college life and what the practices would be like," he said. "The university is right in the middle of the city, and they don't have a pro team there, so the athletes get treated very well there."
Castine said he is open and has no leader, so Rivalshoops.com will keep you posted on his situation as the fall unfolds.
