Castine Sets Up Pair of Trips

Kory Castine, a developing 6-8, 233 pound power forward from Shaw H.S. in Marrero, La., has set up a pair of official visits in September.
Castine told Rivalshoops.com that he will visit Alabama-Birmingham (Sept. 13-15) and Western Kentucky (Sept. 20-22). Both of those programs have offered him scholarships, he said.

Others who have offered include Tulane, Buffalo, Stetson and Nicholls State. He's also being eyeballed by Louisiana State, Norfolk State, SW Texas, Stephen F. Austin, Louisiana-Lafayette and Lipscomb, but those programs have yet to offer.
"I want to get a good education and go where I am wanted," Castine said. "I am not sure when I am going to sign."
Castine added that there's no current leader for his services and that he's fairly wide open at this stage.
Castine, who lives in Gretna, La., has had a chance to swing by Tulane for an unofficial visit since the Conference USA program is located so close to his home. He's not sure if he will use an official trip for the Green Wave, but Sean Finney and his staff will visit the Castine household on Sept. 9 when the in-home visit process begins.
This past summer, Castine traveled with Cliff Baptiste's Gulf Coast Stars program. Their schedule included pit stops at the Great American Shootout in Texas, the AAU Super Showcase in Florida and the AAU Nationals in Florida.
Last season at Shaw, Castine averaged 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks per contest. He has a 2.6 GPA but said he missed a qualifying ACT score on his first crack at the exam last spring.
Rivalshoops will keep you posted on Kory, so stay tuned.
