Castine a Big Body in Paint

DENTON, Tex. -- Kory Castine, a ruggedly built 6-8, 233 pound power forward from Shaw H.S. in Marrero, La., has some scholarship offers on the table this summer.
Castine told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that he has been offered by Tulane, Tulsa, Old Dominion, Buffalo and New Orleans. TCU has also expressed interest in the skilled big man from the bayou.

Castine said that Tulsa has done a very good job of recruiting him thus far. Tulsa was one of the programs on hand here at the Great American Shootout to evaluate Castine.
Castine helped the Gulf Coast Stars program to an opening round victory over the San Antonio Bulls. While he is not very fluid or a great athlete, Castine is a deft passer for a big man who has some decent moves with his back to the basket.
This past season at Shaw, he averaged 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks per contest. In the classroom, Castine said he has a 2.6 GPA and scored a 15 on his first ACT attempt (he is planning to take the test again in the fall).
Castine has unofficially visited Tulane, and will weigh out his options after the summer. Following the Shootout, he will attend both the AAU Nationals and AAU Showcase in Florida with the Gulf Coast Stars.
