Earlier this week three-star prospect Sam Cassell committed to Maryland, but now there is a change of plans for the Baltimore native.

Maryland might still get the 6-foot-3 shooting guard who prepped at Notre Dame Prep this year, but it will have to wait until Cassell takes some visits first.
"I'm going to take visits to South Florida and Florida State," Cassell told Rivals.com. "I want to take the visits to make sure."
Maryland is the only school that Cassell has visited to date. He will head to USF on April 5. A date has not yet been scheduled for Florida State, where Cassell's father, Sam Cassell Sr., was a star.
Cassell pointed out that although he is opening his recruitment, Maryland is still the frontrunner.
"The thing I like about Maryland is that it's home," he said. "I've received a lot of love from people in the state. I like the team and the way they play on a night-in, night-out basis."
A sharpshooter and crafty scoring guard, Cassell averaged 22 points and six assists per game this year.
