Paris Carter, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound junior shooting guard / small forward from Lake Clifton High School in Baltimore, Md. has improved his body tone from when he competed in the Maryland State Finals last season. And his list of schools has grown, with more high majors getting involved with this powerful player.

"Clemson, La Salle, Pittsburgh, Florida State and Cincinnati," he answered when asked for his list following the Lakers' 60-50 win over Lansdowne High School in the Mayor's Cup Challenge at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Md. Cecil Kirk Coach Anthony Lewis said, "He's eliminated the 'baby fat.'"
Carter told RivalsHoops.com that he's been working out a lot since last spring. Carter had played with the Baltimore Select AAU program prior to joining teammate Chester Frazier and UConn commit Rudy Gay on the C-K program.
He's an extremely accurate outside shooter and has the strength to handle players with more size. In the matchup with Lansdowne, he was facing two players who were at least 6-foot-8 with more girth than he or any teammate. After being called for a technical foul when he and Chris Gilliam knocked around on the way up the court in the fourth quarter, Carter, a stern look covering his face, strongly stole the in-bounds pass intended for Gilliam.
Lake Clifton Head Coach Herman Harried said the Carter and senior Donta Ridley had to take on the Baltimore County school's bigger players. "We're not that big. That was asking a lot of them to play against big kids like that, but that's what's required," he said.
Carter had game highs of 20 points and 14 rebounds. Lansdowne was led by their other power forward Barry Cornish who had 17 points. "It was important that we didn't let 33 (Cornish) get into his game. That had a lot to do with our picking up this win," Harried, who game away praising his opponent's effort, said.
Carter is a fourth-year junior and won't be eligible to play next season in Maryland. Therefore, he and Frazier will be heading to the South Kent prep school in Connecticut which is coached by Raphael Chillious who last season was at West Nottingham Academy in Maryland.
Besides the stronger frame, Carter has also shed braids that had dangled from his head since he was a freshman. He now has a goatee and closely cropped hair.
Good thing Len Satterfield of the Baltimore Sun was there to ask that question. My memory is getting as fleeting as my hair is getting whiter.
