Carr Will Play In Big 12

Iowa State continues its momentum in recruiting the class of 2004. After landing Rahshon Clark, a terrific athlete from New York City, Iowa State landed another player along the East Coast in Tasheed Carr.
Carr, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound combo guard from Mount Zion Christian Academy, chose Iowa State. "I also considered Arkansas, Virginia Tech, St. Joe's, and Temple," Carr said. "I just loved the coaching staff at Iowa State. They have an up and coming program and I want to be part of that winning program."

Carr also said he is looking forward to playing with such athletes like Clark. "It's a family atmosphere at Iowa State," he said. "I have a chance to work hard, step in and play some minutes as a freshman. I want to be able to help Iowa State out right away and make an impact."
Tasheed will play in several major tournaments this season with Mount Zion. "We are going to the Prime Time tournament in New Jersey," Carr said. "We are also going to the KMOX tournament in St. Louis. It's a great schedule."
Carr added: "I want to work on my shooting this season. I also want to work on my lateral quickness in playing defense."
