Carney Impressed With Oklahoma

Rodney Carney, a 6-6, 205-pound forward from Northwest High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, praised his visit to Oklahoma as a trip that was informative and fun. "I got a chance to see the campus and meet the coaches and players," Carney said. "It was a great trip. I enjoyed myself and I learned a lot about Oklahoma."
Carney said he was especially impressed with the friendship among the players. "I was very impressed with how close the players are," Carney said. "There is a great chemistry among the players there."

Carney said he saw that chemistry throughout the trip. "I also had a chance to play some pickup ball," Carney said. "Those players are really good. The game is so much faster on the college level than high school."
Carney told us he plans on visiting Memphis next. "Those are really the top schools I am considering," Carney said. "I am open but those are the top two schools."
Carney said he plans on working on his left hand this summer before heading to the college level. "I improved on my consistency this past season," Carney said. "That is the top goal that I met. I wanted to be more consistent. Now this summer I want to strengthen my left hand. It's okay. But I want it to be better."
Carney said Oklahoma told him he will probably play the wing position. "I am getting better from the perimeter," Carney said. "I can play the wing position. I shot about 35 percent from the three point line but I really improved from the last year."
Carney said he plans on visiting Memphis this upcoming weekend. "Then I will probably make a decision,"
Carney had a nice senior year. He averaged 21.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, and six blocks per game. He hit for 49 percent from the floor while knocking down 75 percent from the foul line.
