Carl Elliott Opens Some Eyes

One of the bigger sleepers to emerge from this past weekend's Boys' Club Holiday Tournament in New York City was 6-3, 185 pound point guard Carl Elliott of Trinity Pawling H.S. in Pawling, N.Y.
A well built floor general who plays a deliberate halfcourt style, Elliott does a terrific job of protecting the ball and getting others involved for Bill Casson's Pride squad.

Casson, who is in his first year at the prep school after building a solid program at Cheshire Academy in Connecticut, told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that Elliott has attracted a wide degree of interest this fall.
Not only is Elliott an accomplished basketball player, but he is also a Division I football prospect.
He played both wide receiver and running back for Trinity Pawling this past season, and Casson said that UMass has offered while Hofstra and Wisconsin have inquired.
On the basketball side of things, Rutgers, Marist, Siena, Manhattan, Hofstra and Texas have all called or come up to check Elliott out.
While we believe Elliott is a major sleeper based on what's out there this winter/spring, he is not a total unknown on the hoops circuit. He was one of the top prospects at the first session of the Eastern Invitational Basketball Clinic in early July, and also played a bit for the Bronx Gauchos program.
Elliott has scored a 950 on the SAT, but he will need to significantly boost his core grades in order to qualify academically, Casson said. The Brooklyn, N.Y., native enjoyed a terrific weekend at the Boys' Club Tourney and will likely receive some high major looks this winter.
IR/Rivalshoops plans to catch Trinity Pawling in action again this season, so we'll keep you abreast on Elliott's play and recruitment in the coming weeks.
