Cannen fires for Dohertys Mustangs

Make no mistake about it, the past couple of days have been good for Matt Doherty and his staff at SMU. On Tuesday, the Mustangs locked up local high flyer Jalen Jones. Wednesday night, they backed up his commitment by landing local forward Cannen Cunningham.
Ranked number 94 nationally in the class of 2011, Cunningham is a skilled face-up four man from Arlington (Texas) Lamar.

During the summer, Cunningham made waves while playing with the Brandon Bass All-Stars and local expert Damon Sayles of rivals.com affiliate Texashoops.com feels the Mustangs are getting a potential impact player.
"Cannen is an excellent pickup for the Mustangs in that he's a complete player," said Sayles. "He's a skilled kid who will instantly help a SMU team looking to have a breakout season."
"He's also another Dallas area kid and that's exactly what SMU is gunning for."
A four-star prospect, Cunningham joins Jones and Houston wing Ryan Manuel (both three-star prospects) and San Diego big man Eric Norman.
