Canadian big man to St. Louis

During the summer, West Coast programs flocked to see DRIVE Basketball big man Matt Neufeld play. Rather commit as a 2014 prospect, the three-star center chose to leave Canada to play a year of prep school ball in the States.
Once in the States, the next decision was whether or not to commit early or wait until the spring. Thursday the 6-foot-10 center at Bel Aire (Kan.) Sunrise Christian decided to end the recruiting process.

According to DRIVE program director Pasha Baines, Neufeld has committed to play his college ball at St. Louis University.
The product of British Columbia is somebody who should be more than capable of making waves and providing immediate help in the Atlantic 10.
Not only is Neufeld a legitimate 6-foot-10, he is solidly built and has a pretty high level of skill. The three-star prospect has very good touch out to 12 feet, does a good job of holding position on the low block, rebounds his area and is a very good passer out of either the high or low post.
Likely, Neufeld will have to adjust to the quickness and overall athleticism in the A-10 but it will be more of getting used to faster play than not being able to keep up with the play because he is certainly a good enough athlete.
According to Baines Neufeld had a very good visit to St. Louis and their style of play along with the recruiting process weighing on him prompted Neufeld to go ahead and end his recruitment rather than wait until the spring.
