Can UCONN or Charlotte Rally By MD

CHAPEL HILL, NORTH CAROLINA -- It's not over yet, according to AAU coach Gary Charles. "I know Maryland leads," Charles said. "But Mike told me he is also giving serious consideration to Connecticut and Charlotte."
Charles is talking about his outstanding swingman, Mike Jones. Remember, it was Jones who made a clear statement this past weekend at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions that the Terps were the leaders in his recruiting battle. Jones has also mentioned Boston College as being involved too.

"That's true," Charles said. "But Mike told me there was still a possibility he could chose the other schools."
"Maryland probably can't be beat," Jones repeated over and over during many interviews.
Jones, a 6-5, 190-pound swingman from Thayer Academy in Braintree, Massachusetts, is a very bouncy athlete but his game has expanded out to the three-point line. "He has tremendous ups," Charles said. "Plus his shooting has improved. This is what makes him a special player."
Charles said that Jones is working hard on his handle. "If he continues to improve that part of his game, he could be unstoppable offensively," Charles said. "He is also a good defensive player."
