Cameron to Play in the SEC

Shortly after leading the Tennessee Travelers to an overtime victory over the Miami Tropics in the Memorial Day Classic in New Orleans, one time Clemson commitment Joey Cameron made a commitment to an SEC school. The 6-foot-7, 245-pound power forward out of Leeds (Ala.) High School is feeling much better about his decision this time.
“About ten minutes ago I called Buzz and committed to Tennessee,” Cameron told RivalsHoops.com. “I feel a whole lot better this time. I definitely rushed into the decision last time.”

“I have spent a lot of time in Knoxville on the campus and have developed a good relationship with the coaches. I can relate to Buzz, and the style of play fits my style of play. They believe in going inside with the ball. And I am looking forward to playing in the SEC.”
Assistant Coach Ian Andreasen for the Travelers said Cameron had one of his best games on the circuit against the Tropics.
“He played very well,” said Coach Andreasen. “He probably had his best game of the summer. I’m not sure, but I bet he had around 20 points. He shot the ball well and took it strong to the hole.”
Cameron, who averaged 24 points and 15 rebounds per game this past high school season, said he chose the Volunteers over Memphis, North Carolina, and Georgia Tech.
