“Calvin gave a commitment to Illinois this weekend,” Simeon High School Head Coach Bob Hambric said. “The letter of intent papers have already been signed and delivered to the Illinois coaching staff. I spoke to Calvin and he loved everything about his visit to Illinois, so it was the best situation for him.”
DePaul, Northwestern, Ball State, Illinois St., Indiana St., and Loyola Chicago were the other schools highly interested in Brock. The chance to play for a power conference like the Big Ten played a role in his decision.
“I think Calvin liked the idea of playing in a big time conference like the Big Ten,” Coach Hambric said. “I also know that the Illinois coaching staff plans to play him at different positions. Calvin has the ability to play both guard positions and the small forward position, so he will probably see some minutes right away.”
