Calliste to Horizon League

Four-star prospect Jason Calliste made a big splash last summer in Las Vegas with his strong play for Grassroots Canada. Calliste continued that strong play this year for first year school Winston-Salem (N.C.) Quality Education Academy. Next year the 6-foot-2, 175-pound combo guard will take his game to the Horizon League.
"Jason took a visit to Detroit on the 25th, and really enjoyed the three days he spent up there," said Quality Education Academy head coach Isaac Pitts. "He likes Coach McCallum a lot, and Coach Biggs did a great job recruiting him.

"What really impressed Jason was the family atmosphere at Detroit. It just felt right to him. And being in Detroit puts him close to Toronto where he is from."
Calliste also took unofficial visits to Charlotte, Marshall and Chattanooga before deciding on Detroit.
On the season, Calliste has averaged 24 points and 11 assists for his 23-7 team according to Coach Pitts.
"We have played against a lot of great players this year, and Jason has more than held his own against them," said Pitts. "He's played a lot of point guard for us, and the schools recruiting him like him as a point guard who can score and then also move over to shooting guard."
Calliste is the No. 86 ranked prospect in the Rivals150.
