California PF ready to hit the road

One of the top sleepers in the west is ready to take a deeper look at his college options. Devonte Elliott, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound power forward from Paramount (Calif.), will be on the road this weekend for his first official visit of the fall.
Elliott said he will travelt to Nevada for an official visit. He said he was scheduled to visit Gonzaga last weekend but had to cancel it last minute because of the SAT test.

The trip to Nevada has been circled on his calendar for a while now, Elliott said.
"I like Nevada a lot. Their coaching staff is really good. I can talk to them about anything, anytime. I feel real comfortable about them," the three-star prospect said. "Nevada is a good school. I'm looking forward to going out there."
Elliott said he is contemplating a visit on Oct. 17 to either Gonzaga or UTEP, too.
"Gonzaga is a great program with great history. Coach Rice is a really good guy," Elliott said. "UTEP blew me away when [Tony Barbee] was talking to me the other day. He made some good points to me about choosing a school and being comfortable and how it needs to fit me. He told me that it is like making a business decision. He had a lot of great things to talk about."
A visit to George Washington is set in stone for Oct. 24, he says, and Fresno State, Utah State and Alabama are also in the hunt for his commitment. Elliott said he knows what he wants to find in his future college home.
"I want to have a great relationship with my coaching staff and play with great players," Elliott said. "I'd like to play right away and I would like to be an impact guy that graduates from college"
