Whether it was first gaining notoriety with Play Hard Play Smart in the summer before moving on to Team Odom, the high school teammates had been expected by many to attend college together.
But, when it came time for the Sacramento (Calif.) Sheldon wings to make their commitments, they went in their own directions.
Sunday afternoon, coaches for Team Odom indicated that Nelson, a 6-foot-5 small forward would attend UTEP. Nelson made his choice after making a stop in El Paso to see Tim Floyd's program on an official visit earlier this month.
At the same time, Team Odom coaches confirmed that Eaton, a 6-foot-8 combo forward, would attend Pepperdine after taking his official visit to the Waves picturesque campus.
Rated a three-star prospect, Nelson is a crafty big bodied scorer who can get hot from deep. Also a three-star prospect, Eaton is a lean combo forward who can run and uses his athleticism to impact games.
