Caldwell off to strong start

2008 three-star prospect Tyrone Caldwell is off to a strong start, guiding his Clarksville (Tenn.) High School team to a 7-0 record while also putting up 27 points against five-star prospect Scotty Hopson's high school team. Mid-major offers are coming in, but the 6-foot, 180-pound point guard is working to get his game to a high-major level.
"I want to play in the ACC," said Caldwell. "I just think that conference has the highest talent level and the most competitive teams.

"I'm continuing to get better. I'm going both ways pretty easily, and my outside shooting is better. People have to think twice now before they back off me to play the drive."
Clemson is the one school in the ACC who is recruiting Caldwell the hardest. The Tigers' coaching staff is expected to be in Clarksville soon to evaluate him.
Out of the SEC, Mississippi State is showing the most interest while Florida State, Memphis, Tennessee, Florida, Virginia and Missouri are also showing varying degrees of interest.
Mid-majors Austin Peay and Middle Tennessee State have offered Caldwell.
On the season, he is averaging 16.5 points, 4.1 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 steals while only turning the ball over 2 times per game.
Tyrone Caldwell scouting report:
A physical point guard who is poised and strong with the ball, Caldwell excels at getting into the lane and has the body control to finish. A smart player, Caldwell is also a heady defensive player. Improving his outside shot is critical to solidifying himself as a high-major prospect.
