Caldwell Makes Decision

Tezmar Caldwell, a 6-7, 205 pound combo forward from Morristown H.S. in Morristown, N.J., has committed to Siena.
Caldwell visited Siena back in September, and also had interest this fall from programs such as Charleston Southern, Vermont, Fairleigh Dickinson, Monmouth, Boston University, Towson and Maryland-Baltimore County.

"When I took my official visit to Siena, I felt comfortable," Caldwell explained. "They made me feel like I was at home. It was a gut feeling -- it was the right place for me to be."
Caldwell was hard for a lot of college coaches to track as a high school junior, because he split time between two high schools after his family moved from the Washington D.C. area back to New Jersey.
In fact, he only played in about 10 games total last year, starting out the 2001-2002 campaign at Archbishop Carroll H.S. in Washington before moving to Morristown. He had to sit out a number of games before becoming eligible at Morristown, and an injury just before the state playoffs reduced his season even further.
A lot of college coaches caught Caldwell in action at the 17 and under AAU Nationals in Florida, where he suited up for the Morris County Bulls.
"That's where most of the schools noticed me," Caldwell said.
When back in New Jersey, he also attended high school summer league games in Linden, N.J.
Caldwell is expected to be able to swing between both forward slots at Siena. The Saints have a number of outstanding young prospects in their frontcourt, including 6-6 power forward Mike Haddix and 6-9 power forward/center Paul Williams.
