CA Combo Guard Makes Decision

Jimmy Goffredo, a 6'0'' 170 pound combo guard and lights-out shooter from Crescenta Valley High School in Crescenta, California, has committed to Harvard.
Goffredo chose the Ivy League program over scholarship offers from Holy Cross and Cal-Riverside. Previously Princeton and Loyola Marymount had been involved. Princeton's interest cooled a bit after receiving a commitment from New Jersey point guard Max Schafer, while Loyola got a pledge from another player. Goffredo had visited Holy Cross and Harvard officially, and Riverside unofficially.

"He really liked Coach Sullivan a lot," said John Goffredo, longtime coach at Crescenta Valley High School. "He liked the players and the coaches, and he wanted his education to really matter."
Goffredo told Rivalshoops.com that it's just a good fit for him.
"I really liked the school and the trip," said Goffredo. "I just felt like I really fit in there. The school was a big factor, too."
Goffredo displayed a feathery shooting stroke over the course of the summer with The LA Rockfish. He impressed Rivalshoops.com in July at the Three Stripes event at Hofstra with his marksmanship and savvy. Jimmy is extremely fundamentally sound, plays hard, and defends well. In short, this is an excellent get for Harvard, who pulled off a minor coup with Goffredo's pledge.
"He's fired up and he thinks he can contribute as a freshman," said John Goffredo. "They want him to score and they liked the way he plays."
Jimmy carries a weighted 4.35 GPA and has scored 1320 on the SAT and 32 on the ACT.
Add Goffredo to the list of talented freshmen making pledges to the Ivy League this fall.
