BYU Adds JUCO Duo

BYU has reeled in a dandy of a recruiting class for 2004. Steve Cleveland and his staff solidified their top 25 group with the late additions of a junior college duo. Josh Reisman and Keena Young both signed with the Cougars, giving BYU five quality players ready for minutes next season.
Reisman, a 6-foot-1 combo guard, and Young, a 6-foot-6 wing, both bring offensive skills to the rotation. Reisman averaged 14.2 points at San Jose City College last year while Young averaged just under 10 points a contest in his freshman season at South Plains College in Texas.

"Josh and Keena will provide much needed depth on the guard line," Cleveland said. "Josh is a combo guard with good offensive skills who will compete at both guard positions. Keena has a good mid-range game and has an opportunity to provide critical help at the 3-position as a defender and offensive rebounder."
Reisman is a solid shooter with Division I experience. He signed with Gonzaga out of high school, playing behind Blake Stepp in 2001-02. Reisman will be a solid shooter in the Mountain West.
Young was also a highly sought after recruit at the prep level. Playing along side current NBA player Kendrick Perkins at Beaumont High School (Tex.), Young was an all-state performer. He and Perkins both originally signed with Memphis but academic issues pushed him to South Plains. Young will have three years of eligibility at BYU.
The duo round out a great signing class. Headlined by California big man, David Burgess (No. 115 on the Rivals150), Utah native Chris Miles (No. 133 on the Rivals150) and Texas forward Trent Plaisted (No. 140 on the Rivals150), BYU has added size and depth. Sharp-shooting guard Lee Cummard (No. 139 on the Rivals150) signed but will serve a two-year Mormon mission before suiting up in Provo.
