Byron Sanders: It was the visit. I liked everything about the visit. The most impressive part about the school is the fan support. I was amazed how supportive they were when I was there for a game. It was a loss but the fans there are so behind the team. That was impressive. It was a great atmosphere.
rivalshoops.com: What were your impressions of Matt Doherty?
Bryon Sanders: I really like him. He is a lot like my coach. He is more strict than my coach but he is laid back too. I like that. I am going to enjoy playing for him. I can learn so much from him and the other coaches.
rivalshoops.com: What would you like to study at North Carolina?
Byron Sanders: The future of business is in the area of computers. So I am going to study something to do with computers, probably computer science. It's a good way to make a living.
rivalshoops.com: What do you think you can bring to the table next year for North Carolina?
Byron Sanders: I will give them defense. I will hustle all the time. I will play hard all the time. I will rebound for them. I will block shots. I will give North Carolina a little bit of each part of the game.
rivalshoops.com: What would you like to improve on before you get to North Carolina next Fall?
Byron Sanders: I want to add some weight to my body. I am at 215 pounds now. I want to get up to 230, at least. But my goal is to get to 240. This means eating right and lifting weights.
rivalshoops.com: What part of your individual game would you like to work on before you get to North Carolina?
Byron Sanders: I want to work on my ballhandling. The coaches at North Carolina told me to work on that and work on my jumper, my perimeter game.
rivalshoops.com: When did you know you were going to North Carolina?
Byron Sanders: After the first day. When I stepped into the Dean Dome and heard the crowd, I knew this was the place for me. It was impressive. The atmosphere is great.
