Buttell Continues To Impress

After being somewhat of an unknown player during his sophomore year, Jeremy Buttell has seen his recruitment skyrocket. The 6-foo-7, 220-pound power forward from Colleyville Heritage High School in Colleyville, TX., is being recruited by a number of high major programs, and the list continues to grow on a daily basis.
“I’ve been hearing from Illinois, Bradley, Oklahoma, New Hampshire, UNC-Greensboro, Virginia Tech, Rice, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, Iowa and a few others,” Buttell said. “I have a brother that just transferred to TCU and will be playing baseball, but I don’t think that will have an impact on my decision.

“The Big 12 is a conference that I’m definitely interested in,” he added. “I have a lot of family that lives in Illinois, so the Big Ten is another conference that I have a lot of interest in. It would be great to play in front of my family and friends.”
Buttell does not intend to end his recruitment in the immediate future, so he will continue to help his team win and keep developing his game to the best of his ability.
“I’ve been facing a lot of double and triple teams during district play, so my scoring is down, but I’ve been rebounding the basketball and getting other teammates involved with my passing,” he said. “I’m also hitting 33 percet of my three pointers and am one of the team leaders in that area. As far as my team goes, I just want to make it to regionals and follow that up with a trip to state.
“I was the district MVP last year, so that is something I would like to achieve again,” he added.
There will come a time when Buttell will focus more of his attention towards his recruitment, but that is not a top priority at this time. He has spent quite a bit of time talking with his family about his recruitment, and they are very much involved in the process.
