Butler pulls in pledge

The Butler Bulldogs are coming off the best single season in their school's history, and now they are looking to follow it up with a big year on the recruiting trail. They got the ball rolling with a super versatile wing from St. Louis, Roosevelt Jones.
On their rise to success the Butler Bulldogs have made a living on tough kids who are very versatile. That is what they saw in Jones, and he will fit right in. The 6-foot-4 and 195-pound wing can guard a multitude of positions, and that led to Butler making him a priority on the recruiting trail.

Along with Butler, Jones had interest from Illinois State, Missouri State, and Southern Illinois along with several others. However in the end it was Jones' relationship with the Butler staff that made the difference.
"Coach (Brad) Stevens and his coaching staff are a really good group of guys," said Jones of his decision to pick the Bulldogs.
To go with the coaching staff, academics are also a big deal for Jones, and that is also something that appeals to him about Butler.
"Their academic program is amazing," said Jones. "That's what pulled me in and me commit."
The commitment is the first for the Bulldogs since they made their run to the national title game.
