Butchs Team Losses

Brian Butch, a 6-11, 215 pound center/power forward from Appleton West H.S. in Appleton, Wis., is sitting at eight schools as the July evaluation period winds down.
Butch, whose Fox Valley Skillz Black program was eliminated by the Oregon Ice Metro program on Wednesday afternoon at the adidas Big Time Tournament here in Las Vegas, told Rivalshoops that he is down to Iowa, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Kansas, Arizona, Stanford, Tennessee and Marquette.

In the loss to the Oregon squad, Butch scored 21 points, but a nagging back injury kept him from playing at 100 percent capacity. With the game up for grabs and time winding down, Butch was one of three Fox Valley players who missed three point attempts in the final 22 seconds as the Ice squad held on for a 64-61 victory.
After the game, he told Rivalshoops.com that he plans on visiting North Carolina the weekend of Sept. 11. Back in the spring, he took his first and only official visit thus far to Arizona.
There were a who's who of head coaches at Butch's game on Wednesday afternoon at Sierra Vista H.S. in Las Vegas, including Wisconsin Head Coach Bo Ryan, North Carolina Head Coach Matt Doherty, Kansas Head Coach Roy Williams, Arizona Head Coach Lute Olson and Tennessee Head Coach Buzz Peterson.
We will have much more on Butch, including a lengthy Q&A with the skilled big man, over the next 24-48 hours, so stay tuned for more information on many of the top prospects on the Class of 2003.
