Butch Announces Today

Brian Butch, the 7-0 center from Appleton West High School in Wisconsin, is ready to tell us what school he will be attending in the year 2003-2004. Butch has planned a press conference for this afternoon, 12 PM Central time. He will choose between Wisconsin, North Carolina, Marquette, and Kansas. Our sources tell us that he will make a verbal commitment to Wisconsin known today at his press conference. However, his coaches have said Brian was still trying to make up his mind as late as last night.
Butch, who had an outstanding spring and solid summer for Ritchie Davis' AAU program, is a gifted big man with a soft touch but a big heart tucked underneath his uniform. Butch is a fierce competitor who is agile and skilled enough to be a major impact player on the college level.

You can listen to the live broadcast on two different sites, if you wish. Below is a press release:
7'0 Brian Butch of Appleton (WI) West will make his college known on Wednesday, October 29th at Noon (CDT) in a press conference at his school and it will be carried LIVE and simulcast at BroadcastMonsters.com and GregSwaim.com.
This is only the third time in history that a top recruit has made his decision known live on internet radio, as previously Omar Wilkes committed to Kansas and Ekene Ibekwe committed to Maryland, also at BroadcastMonsters.com and GregSwaim.com.
Butch, a top national player and a McDonald’s All-American Candidate, apparently is down to four schools with Wisconsin, North Carolina, Kansas and Marquette, although Arizona was in the running until they recently received another commitment.
The show will begin at approximately 12:45 am (EDT) and we'll also have an audio archive of the press conference.
