Buffalo Gets More Size

The University of Buffalo added some more size recently when the staff secured verbal commitment from 6'8'' 270 pound Brian Andre from Maine Central Institute. Andre is a native of Bingham, Maine.
The MAC program had earlier secured a pledge from 6'10'' 195 pound Andrew Atman from Upper St. Clair High School in Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania, just outside of Pittsburgh.

Andre is a burly post player with soft hands and a burgeoning face-up game. MCI coach Ed Jones told Rivalshoops.com about what Buffalo is getting to help beef up their post game.
"His size, his shooting touch, and his hands are his biggest strengths," said Jones. "He carries his size well."
Atman is an ambidextrous post player with a high basketball IQ. He chose The Mid-American Conference program over a scholarship offer from Wofford. Atman, who is also an all-state volleyball player, had a scholarship offer in that sport on the table from Penn State in addition to the basketball interest he garnered.
Andrew committed to Buffalo after taking an official visit last month.
"I just felt comfortable with the players and coaches," said Atman. "And it's a very good school."
Atman, who averaged 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocks during his high school season last winter, competed with The Pittsburgh Shockers and The West Virginia Mohawks on the AAU circuit. He competed at The Charlie Weber Invitational and Las Vegas Big Time Tournament this summer.
Atman is an excellent student, carrying a 3.5 GPA. He has scored 1200 on the SAT.
Coach Witherspoon, Mike Mennega, and crew continue to uncover hidden gems on the recruiting trail. Buffalo still has two more 'ships to fill, and don't be surprised to see them add some considerable talent in addition to these developing bigs with the rest of those grants.
